"I somehow knew this experience was going to change my life, and it did from the second the plane touched down at Heathrow." -Aimee

The Study London program of IES was very well organized and planned, and had a wonderful group of people running it. I would highly recommend this program to anyone looking to get an independent, yet guided experience of London. Field trips were included (for an extra cost), but I didn’t go on any of the ones provided. My advice would be that some of the most amazing people I’ve met were faculty at IES London, so get to know them!

In England I visited Liverpool, Manchester (2x), Sheffield and Birmingham all while seeing The 1975 on their tour. I also went to Dublin, Barcelona, Paris, Nice, Brussels (2x), Rome, Florence, Venice, Greece (Naxos and Santorini), and Krakow. Every single time I went somewhere I was able to feel the history because I had either known or looked up the history before I went. Knowing the history of the country you’re going to always makes your experience better (in my opinion).

I somehow knew this experience was going to change my life, and it did from the second the plane touched down at Heathrow.

I met friends for life that I ended up living with for a year at Iowa, I learned more from traveling and the people I met than I could’ve in any classroom, and I finally figured out who I am. The most incredible part of studying abroad was the excitement I had every day to see a new place or learn something new.
