WHY SHOULD I VISIT?

Greece was my only solo trip during my study abroad experience and it was extremely relaxing. I got to stay in a super cheap hostel in the heart of Monastiraki Square. Every morning I would walk a couple blocks to get a Koulouria and some fresh fruit from the market in the square. Athens is ripe for fresh, local food and plenty of spots to sit and just enjoy the vibe / views. Some trips are great for experiences, some for food, and some for sightseeing. Athens checked all those boxes.

THE 'UNMISSABLE' ITINERARY

• Necropolis, obviously

• Free (besides tip) walking tour- hostels usually provide these or give directions on where to find one

• Mount Lycabettu- you can see the entire city!

• Historic parks near Necropolis

• Monastraki Square to shop and eat
